I love the Desire Map process! I found it invaluable for getting clear on how I wanted to experience my life. It caught my attention because I noticed how my goal setting, detailed planning, striving for success was all satisfying, yes, but was missing something integral. And I know planning. I was a project specialist, specializing in TCM at a global corporation, so building big, successful projects was part of my livelihood. You know that saying, “Do it again, but with more feeling?” Well it was like that for me. I did it, and did it well, but it was missing soul.
What Danielle LaPorte, the creator of the Desire Map process, says is “You’re not chasing the goal itself, you’re actually chasing a feeling.” Your goals will likely change once you get clear on that feeling or desire. She goes on to say something we all could hear more, “You are worthy of your desires.”
Her words resonated deeply with me. I said, “YES!” What else can you say to that kind of clarity? I went through the process and came out with a set of core desired feelings for 2015: accomplished, sound, nourished and graceful.

This is my second year setting CDFs. I am super excited to experience these CDFs and use them as guiding lights!
Like other mappers, I love seeing other people’s CDFs. There is a wonderful community of other desire mappers you can join up with. To start, there is a book to help you through the process, or if you prefer you can attend workshops. Click through to learn more and maybe start creating your own life changing CDFs! You may just love it so much you consider becoming a Desire Map Coach.
